The whole thing is a pattern.
Which is funny, because pattern recognition is one of our strengths.
We connect dots most people walk right past.

Yet here we are.
Stuck in our own spin cycle, going counterclockwise, wondering why the view won’t change.

Dyslexia is frustrating.
No superpower, rainbow sunshine, happy-go-lucky pep talk erases days that just plain suck.

On those days, overthinking is the tax on top of the tax.

  • It’s replaying conversations from three days ago, still looking for what you did wrong

  • Bracing for impact before anyone's says a word

  • Shushing the mental chatter that follows you into every moment where something could go sideways

Dyslexic overthinking is the weight of always being three steps behind yourself.

FUZZY MATH

Doubt is baked into the dyslexic profile.
Which makes total sense.
Our past experiences planted the seeds.

All those years performing the certainty we didn't feel.
Being misunderstood, misread and misled adds up.

It’s not your fault.
Yet you’ve kept paying the interest on debt you didn’t create.
Often, without even realizing it.

UPSIDES

Which is why the upside of overthinking doesn't get talked about enough.

You just read "upside" and laughed while thinking, what upside?


Overthinking is the bane of your existence.
It’s cost you sleep, confidence and relationships.
And probably a bunch of conversations you wish you could take back.

But stay with this for a second.

  • What if that hamster-wheeling brain of yours running ahead of every conversation isn’t a glitch but a good thing?

  • What if hypervigilance is you pressure-testing outcomes before they happen?

Wouldn’t that make you someone who sees things coming before others?

Overthinking may not be the problem at all.
But where it’s pointed is.

MAPPING

Your whole life you’ve been led to believe that you’re off.
Different as deficient.
And if others didn’t beat you over the head with this bs, you did it to yourself.

Who could blame you?
You reacted naturally to the evidence.
That evidence pointed to you not being as good or as smart as others.

You didn’t think like them.
So you assumed you weren’t qualified.

Over time, your internal mapping system pulled from other peoples’ conclusions about you.

Which sucks because your Inner Map shapes how you feel about yourself.

And a wrongly drawn map leads to the wrong destination.

The wrong destination leads to the wrong outcome.


So maybe overthinking isn’t the villain after all.
It's the asset you've been treating like a liability.

PAYDAY

Look, overthinking on its own is a way to avoid pain.

Your life experience taught you that you needed to do more because you learned early that "just enough" was never enough for you.

But overthinking is also the opportunity.
When it’s pointed in the right direction.

Where within your passion, your energy, your skills and capabilities does this kind of thinking give you an edge?

Because science confirms what you already feel in your bones.

The brain that runs ahead of the moment, pressure-testing outcomes and pulling in context others miss, is the same brain that sees around corners.

You don't need to think less.
You need a better target.
