What’s shakin LEX!

So tell me….

What’d you think of the whole alter ego thing?

Pretty cool, yeah?

I just wanted to mention that this is a great tool for students, gig workers and professionals alike.

The only prerequisite is that you’re a human being trying to make yourself better.

Check out the podcast edition below and right underneath that, the quick step by step on how to create your alter ego.

CREATE YOUR ALTER EGO

Step 1: Identify the moment
Pick one specific situation where you consistently feel nervous, unsure or like you want to disappear. Start there.

Step 2: Choose your alter ego
Who has the qualities you need in that moment? A person you know, someone you admire, a fictional character, or a more confident version of yourself. There's no wrong answer here.

Step 3: Define their traits
Write down 3-5 specific traits that make them effective in exactly that situation. Calm under pressure? Speaks with authority? Doesn't shrink when things get loud? Get specific. Vague traits build vague alter egos.

Step 4: Give them a trigger
A ring. A jacket. A phrase you repeat before you walk in. Something physical that tells your brain: It’s on, we're not operating as usual today.

Step 5: Practice low stakes first
Don't debut your alter ego singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Try them out somewhere smaller first. Adjust what doesn't feel natural.

Step 6: Activate
When the moment arrives, the one you identified in Step 1, take a breath and let them take the wheel.

Know someone who’d appreciate this? Share it with them.
