HOLY SHIFT!

Houston, We Have Perspective

Have you ever wondered what it's like to see Earth from space?

Astronauts describe something profound that happens when they first glimpse our planet from orbit - a cognitive shift so powerful it has its own name: The Overview Effect.

Suddenly, borders disappear. Problems seem smaller. And everything they thought they understood is transformed by this new perspective.

Like those astronauts, dyslexics need our own perspective shift - not about the planet, but about ourselves.

The "Holy Shift" Moment

In 2020, a random workshop led by an entrepreneur with dyslexia shook me like a polaroid picture.

The entrepreneur talked about his struggles growing up dyslexic in upstate New York. His stories were so rich and heartfelt that I wanted to learn more about dyslexia to better understand what he went through.

AND JUST LIKE THAT!

As I read his book, the pieces fell into place. My academic struggles, difficulty holding down jobs, bouts of anxiety, challenges processing, my creative solutions, substance abuse and low self-esteem - it all made sense. IT WAS DYSLEXIA!

It wasn't about seeing what others couldn't. It was about finally seeing MYSELF clearly - my own personal Overview Effect.

Bass Ackwards Reverse Logic

Let's be real about what most "experts" miss about dyslexia after 30:

Dyslexics are top-down learners. We need the forest before we can identify a single tree. Our brains demand context and purpose before details - it's not optional, it's how we're wired.

IT'S YOUR CLAIM TO FAME = BIG PICTURE THINKING.

Yet adult dyslexia content keeps trying to cram us into the details-first box: "Just work on your executive functioning!" "Practice your sequencing!"

Meanwhile, we're sitting there thinking, "But WHY am I doing this again?"

The Square Peg - Round Hole Sitch

Dyslexic adults (top-down learners) are being taught, led and influenced through bottom-up learning (neurotypical) techniques, then wondering why we feel like we're reading an IKEA manual written in hieroglyphics.

"We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them" - Einstein.

That's why conventional success strategies leave you feeling like you're always swimming upstream in peanut butter. The system isn't built for your brain's OS (Operating System).

Life: A MasterClass in Falling Down

Let's talk about those dysle-brities everyone keeps pointing to.

Yes, Richard Branson built an empire. Steven Spielberg reinvented storytelling. But behind each success story are thousands of failures, missteps, and moments of pure frustration.

The path wasn't smooth - it was a masterclass in falling down, getting up, and figuring out a different approach. That's not the exception, it's the rule.

It's supposed to be hard. Otherwise, everyone would have it.

The Secret - Skills Over Titles

When most people look for their next career move, they fixate on job titles: "I want to be a manager" or "Dyslexics should be entrepreneurs."

But what if that's backwards?

What if the real move is identifying the skills you naturally excel at, then finding roles where those skills create massive value - regardless of what the business card says?

Ground Control to Major Claude

When I realized that I, someone who once believed my future was limited to being a bouncer (and not even at a fancy club), could operate at such a high level as a class action advisor to attorneys in Fortune 500 companies...

I couldn't help but wonder: What could other dyslexics achieve if they recognized their actual strengths instead of fixating on their perceived weaknesses?

The LEX Factor

Powered by Dyslexia’s LEX Factor's PRO system (Position-Recognition-Orchestration) is built specifically for your dyslexic mind:

  1. Position: Stop trying to be a round peg. Identify where your square-peggedness is actually an advantage; extract, explore and experiment.

  2. Recognition: Map your Zone of Power - where your actual strengths (not the ones you think you should have) create value. If you had to guess, where do your passion and energy meet your skills and capabilities?

  3. Orchestration: Turn insights into results using frameworks that don't make your brain feel like it's wading through molasses. Here's where you use guidance, counseling, coaching and/ or courses to elevate yourself to your next level.

This isn't about magical superpower dyslexic celebrity abilities.

It’s about recognizing yourself accurately - maybe for the first time ever!

Your Personal Space Odyssey

Just like astronauts seeing Earth from space for the first time, there's a profound shift that happens when you finally see yourself clearly.

Borders fall away. Limitations transform into possibilities. And everything you thought you understood about yourself is forever changed.

This is your Overview Effect – the moment when you recognize - not just what makes you different, but what makes you tick.
